1. Introduction

TrainPriceTracker (“we”, “our” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights when using our website, browser extension, WhatsApp service, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration for AI assistants (collectively, the “Services”).

TrainPriceTracker is an independent, third-party service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Eurostar International Limited or any of its subsidiaries. "Eurostar" is used solely to describe the routes we track. See our Terms of Service for the full disclaimer.

2. Information We Collect

Depending on how you use our Services, we may collect:

Information you provide

  • Your email address (if you create an account or contact us).
  • Your WhatsApp phone number when you interact with our WhatsApp service.
  • Journey searches or fare tracking requests you choose to submit.
  • Messages you send to our support team.

Automatically collected information

  • Basic technical information such as browser type, operating system and extension version.
  • Anonymous usage statistics to help improve our Services.
  • Error logs and diagnostic information.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect:

  • Payment card information (unless processed separately by a third-party payment provider).
  • Your browsing history outside the websites where TrainPriceTracker operates.
  • Your precise location.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide fare tracking and historical fare insights.
  • Deliver price alerts you have requested.
  • Respond to customer enquiries.
  • Improve the performance and reliability of our Services.
  • Detect abuse or misuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Browser Extension

The TrainPriceTracker browser extension operates only on supported journey search pages where it is designed to provide additional fare insights.

The extension may process journey search information displayed on those pages in order to provide its functionality. This information is used solely to deliver the requested features and improve the Service.

5. WhatsApp

If you contact us through WhatsApp Business:

  • Your messages and phone number will be processed to provide the requested service.
  • Messages may be processed by AI systems in order to generate responses.
  • We may retain conversations to improve our Services and provide customer support.

Please do not send sensitive personal information through WhatsApp.

We never start a WhatsApp conversation with you. Reply STOP at any time to opt out and START to resume.

6. Cookies and Analytics

See our full Cookie Policy for the specific cookies we use. In summary: a session cookie to remember your language/currency choice, and usage cookies that only load if you accept them via our cookie banner. You may disable cookies through your browser settings, although some functionality may be affected.

7. AI Assistants and the MCP Integration

TrainPriceTracker publishes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that lets AI assistants (such as Claude or ChatGPT, when a user connects them to TrainPriceTracker) search fares and view price history on a user’s behalf.

  • Fare search and comparison tools do not require sign-in and do not receive personal information beyond what a route/date search needs.
  • An AI assistant may record an alert request if you confirm a contact email. That stores the route, date and email; it does not currently send a notification email. Website and WhatsApp alerts that you create yourself still send email as described below.
  • Connecting an AI assistant to TrainPriceTracker uses OAuth; TrainPriceTracker does not see or store the assistant conversation itself, only the specific tool calls it receives (e.g. “search London to Paris on 2 September”).
  • Requests are rate-limited per connected client and per IP address to prevent abuse; this limiting does not use the content of requests, only their frequency.

8. Alerts and Unsubscribing

When you create a price alert from the website or WhatsApp, we store the route, date(s), your target price and your contact email so we can notify you when the price changes or drops to your target. Alert requests recorded through an AI assistant are stored the same way, but email delivery for that channel is not active yet. Creating an alert is opt-in: nothing is tracked or emailed until you submit one.

Every alert email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe page, which removes the specific tracked journey from our alert list.

9. Sharing Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers (subprocessors) that help us run TrainPriceTracker, each receiving only what it needs to perform its function. These fall into the following categories:

  • Hosting and database providers — host our website, database, and the WhatsApp and MCP services.
  • AI processing providers — process natural-language requests made through WhatsApp and our internal tools.
  • Messaging platform providers — deliver WhatsApp messages.
  • Spam-protection and analytics providers — protect our feedback form from abuse and help us understand site usage (see our Cookie Policy).
  • Error and uptime monitoring providers — configured to exclude personal data (PII) where possible.
  • Email delivery providers — send price-drop alert emails and receive feedback-form messages.

This list may change as our infrastructure evolves.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to:

  • Provide the Services;
  • Meet legal obligations;
  • Resolve disputes;
  • Protect against fraud or abuse.

You may request deletion of your personal information at any time, subject to applicable legal requirements.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration and destruction.

However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

12. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:

  • Access your personal information.
  • Correct inaccurate information.
  • Request deletion of your information.
  • Object to certain processing.
  • Request an export of your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights — including requesting a copy (export) or deletion of your data — email us at the address below with the email address or WhatsApp number associated with your alerts. We aim to respond within 30 days.

13. Children’s Privacy

TrainPriceTracker is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be published on our website together with the effective date.
